Jinhae Art Hall Library officially opened September 1 in Changwon, offering a new cultural space combining books, digital media and hands-on activities.

Located at 653 Chungjang-ro in Jinhae-gu, the library spans four above-ground floors and one basement level, with a total floor area of approximately 4,540 square meters. Its collection includes more than 34,000 books and other materials.

Beyond traditional reading rooms, the library features dedicated spaces for children, creative workshops, digital media and cultural activities.

The second floor is geared toward younger visitors and includes a children’s library, AI photo studio, immersive experience area, workshop, dance room and art space.

The third floor combines the main reading room with digital entertainment and relaxation areas. Visitors can listen to music on vinyl records, use open reading spaces or watch streaming services in a dedicated OTT zone.

Operating hours have also been extended with the official opening. On weekdays, the main reading room and digital media area will remain open until 10 p.m., two hours later than during the library’s trial period.

The facility underwent a soft opening from July 27 through August 31, during which Changwon tested borrowing services and offered programs including upcycling art, rattan crafts and leather workshops.

The city plans to continue developing the library as a community space for reading, culture and creative activities.
