Jinju hosted the awards ceremony for the 2025 Jinju Tourism National Photo Contest on the 3rd at the city hall gallery, “Gallery Jinsim 1949,” located on the second floor of Jinju City Hall.
The contest, now in its sixth year, was organized by the Jinju branch of the Korea Photographers Association and focused on capturing the city’s landscapes, festivals, culture, and everyday life.
A total of 285 works were submitted from across the country, and 61 pieces were selected through expert review. The top prize went to “Jinju Namgang Flower Path,” a spring scene showing cherry blossoms in full bloom along the Namgang River and residents running along the riverside trail. Judges praised the work for expressing the vitality of Jinju’s daily life through a seasonal atmosphere.
The silver prizes were awarded to “Jinju in the Forest of Wolasan,” which captures children playing under the trees, and “Morning at Chokseokru (2025 Chokseokru),” a panoramic view of the Namgang River and Jinju Fortress framed by autumn colors. Three bronze awards, five merit awards, and fifty honorable mentions were also selected.
All 61 winning works are being exhibited at Gallery Jinsim 1949 until December 5. The exhibition highlights a wide range of subjects, from Wolasan and Mangjinsan Bongudae to local garden festivals and tourism characters such as Hamo and Ayoh.
After the show in Jinju, selected works will be displayed in Seoul Government Complex and Gyeongbokgung Station to promote the city’s tourism appeal to a wider audience.
