The rich fragrance and vivid colors of cattleya orchids will fill Jinju this December as Buyang Orchid Farm hosts the 8th Jinju Orchid Garden Exhibition.
The event runs for 10 days, from December 12 to 21, at Beoldang-ri in Micheon-myeon, Jinju-si, within the Jinju Dream agricultural specialty shopping complex.
Native to tropical regions of the Americas, cattleya orchids are widely admired for their striking color variations and their deep, sweet scent that lingers for days. Often referred to as the “Queen of Flowers,” they enjoy a devoted following among orchid enthusiasts.
Buyang Orchid Farm, which has specialized in Western orchids for more than four decades, will showcase the results of its long-standing cultivation expertise through a wide-ranging collection.
This year’s exhibition brings together more than 50,000 cattleyas across roughly 1,000 varieties, all available for viewing and purchase, making it one of the largest displays of its kind in the region. Visitors can also browse a separate booth featuring locally produced agricultural specialties.
During the exhibition, Buyang Orchid Farm will host a Jinju Dream Shopping Mall membership sign-up event. New members will receive a 500-gram gift of locally grown Yeongho Jinmi rice, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
