Jinju City has selected six privately maintained gardens as its Outstanding Private Gardens for 2026, continuing an initiative aimed at bringing garden culture into everyday life and highlighting unique green spaces around the city.

The six newly selected gardens are Cafe Sawol and Changbakui Tteul in Geumsan-myeon, SKY GARDEN in Munsan-eup, Seokgapsan Nature Farm in Pyeonggeo-dong, Piv’s Garden in Pyeongan-dong, and Small Garden in the Forest in Myeongseok-myeon.

The selections include both residential and cafe gardens, each developed and maintained by its owner over an extended period.

Garden experts conducted on-site evaluations following applications submitted between March and May. Criteria included the garden’s distinctive characteristics and history, size, design, landscaping, plant combinations and overall maintenance.

Jinju launched the private garden program in 2022 and has now recognized 50 gardens across the city.

The six selected gardens will receive official registration certificates and plaques. Jinju also plans to introduce the gardens and their individual stories through online publications.

The program is part of the city’s broader effort to encourage gardening and identify spaces that could also contribute to local cultural and tourism activities.
