Daegu will roll out its large-scale integrated spring festival, 2026 Fantasia Daegu Festa, from May 8 to 17, transforming multiple districts across the city into one connected cultural celebration.
Held under the Season 8 slogan “Space Hitchhiker,” this year’s event is designed as a citywide roaming festival where visitors are encouraged to move between neighborhoods, streets, parks, and performance venues rather than staying in one fixed location.
The spring edition links six separate festivals under one umbrella brand, combining traditional culture, street performances, youth arts, exhibitions, and family events into a broader tourism platform aimed at extending visitor stays across Daegu.
Among the major programs, the Daegu Yangnyeongsi Herb Medicine Culture Festival will run May 7 to 10 in the historic Yangnyeongsi district with traditional herbal medicine rituals, medicinal herb games, and hands-on oriental medicine activities. The Dongseongro Festival follows from May 8 to 10 with street performances and downtown events centered around one of Daegu’s busiest commercial areas.
Music fans can head to the Daegu Top Band Competition on May 9 at Kolon Outdoor Concert Hall, while family-oriented visitors can enjoy the “When Roses Bloom” festival from May 15 to 17 at Igok Rose Park in Dalseo-gu, featuring busking, markets, photo zones, and children’s activities.
Additional youth busking stages will be spread across Dongseongro and 2.28 Memorial Central Park on selected dates, while art visitors can also connect the festival trip with a special exhibition at Daegu Gansong Art Museum running through July 5.
To encourage movement between venues, organizers are also offering linked discounts including 30% off admission at participating museums and 50% off Daegu City Tour downtown loop buses during the festival period.
The goal is to turn Daegu itself into a walkable cultural map rather than a single festival site, creating a broader stay-and-explore tourism model for both residents and outside visitors.
Full schedules and details are available at fantasiafesta.or.kr and through the festival’s social media channels.
