Gimhae is bursting with cultural energy this October as the city’s major cultural venues come alive with a vibrant lineup of exhibitions, concerts, and festivals.

A wide range of cultural and artistic programs will take place throughout the month, offering citizens a season filled with creativity and community spirit.

A Month of Art and Exhibitions

From October 14 to 19, the 29th Gimhae Korean Painters Association Exhibition and the 21st Gimhae Senior Artists’ Exhibition will be held simultaneously at the Yunseul Art Museum inside the Gimhae Arts and Culture Center. Visitors can explore a variety of works from local artists displayed across the museum’s 2nd and 3rd exhibition halls.

Later in the month, from October 20 to 25, the same venue will host the 18th National Gimhae Art Competition Award-Winning Works Exhibition, organized by the Gimhae Branch of the Korea Fine Arts Association, showcasing the finest works selected from this year’s national competition.

Concerts and Performances for All Ages

On October 16 at 7:30 pm, the 14th Three Generations Filial Piety Concert will take place at Nuri Hall, featuring the Gimhae Women’s Choir. The event will offer a heartwarming program of choral music that can be enjoyed by grandparents, parents, and children alike.

The next evening, October 17 at 5 pm, citizens can enjoy “Art, Jazz, and Beautiful People with Citizens” at Gaya Theme Park, where jazz, vocal, and instrumental performances will fill the evening air.

On October 18 at 1 pm, the 20th Gimhae Music Festival Salmon will take over Gaya Theme Park, hosted by the Gimhae Culture Network. The festival will feature a mix of local artists and citizens performing together, with special guest Jeong Hong-il, runner-up of JTBC’s Singer Gain, headlining the event.

Folk Arts and Traditional Heritage

Two major folk art events will take place on October 19, celebrating Gimhae’s traditional heritage. The 2025 Gimhae Folk Arts Festival “Turtle’s Dream” will begin at 6:30 pm at Hani Hall in the Gimhae Western Culture Center, presenting an interdisciplinary showcase of music, dance, singing, and martial arts. Later that evening, at 7 pm, the Gimhae Folk Arts Preservation Society will hold its regular performance “Four Seasons” at Nuri Hall, highlighting the diversity and depth of local folk traditions.

Wrapping Up with Strings and Harmony

To close out the month, the 10th Gyeongnam Acoustic Guitar Festival will take place on October 26 at 9 am at Aedureum Madang, part of the Gimhae Arts and Culture Center. Acoustic guitar clubs from across the region will perform in a relay-style concert, filling the day with the sound of melody and collaboration.

With events spanning fine art, music, performance, and folk tradition, Gimhae’s October calendar captures the essence of the season—offering citizens and visitors alike a chance to experience a city truly saturated with autumn culture and art.
