Fun in Korea: Gimhae Climate Change Theme Park Water Playground opens July 1

Gimhae City will open the water play facilities at the Climate Change Theme Park from July 1 to August 30, offering a range of new attractions including evening operations and interactive environmental programs.
The facility, which features a combination play structure, water tunnel, and water drop attractions, has become a popular summer destination since opening in 2015.
Ahead of the official opening, the city will conduct trial operations on June 20–21 and June 27–28 to test safety systems and facilities. The water playground will operate from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with five daily sessions consisting of 40 minutes of play followed by a 20-minute break.
The facility will be closed on Mondays and during rainy weather.
This year, the city will introduce evening operations on July 31 and August 1, 7, and 8, extending hours until 8 p.m. to help residents cope with summer heat and tropical nights.
New programs include an eco-friendly energy bubble playground powered by stationary bicycles, recycling-themed mini Olympic games, and K-pop random play dance sessions.
Environmental videos focusing on oceans, wildlife, and climate change will also be shown on a large outdoor screen throughout the season.
