Gyeongnam province has introduced 18 winter destinations designed to bring warmth and energy to the season.

The list highlights night-view spots for the end of the year, sunrise locations to welcome the new year, quiet scenic sites for winter healing, and fun family travel spaces with activities and learning programs.

Two places offer bright winter atmospheres with night views

Jinhae Botanic Museum in Changwon sits between forest and ocean views, where indoor gardens and seasonal displays continue through winter. The museum sets up Christmas-themed lighting and photo zones at the end of the year.

In Jinju, the Christmas Tree Festival at Jinju Daechup History Park features a large tree and illuminated sculptures, with weekend concerts adding to the atmosphere.

Five sunrise locations offer the first light of the year

Yi Sun-sin Park in Tongyeong overlooks the sea near the historic waters of Hansan Island.

Jangseungpo Waterfront Park in Geoje has sculptures and lights along the shoreline and hosts a New Year fireworks show.

Eoryeong’s Sotbawi is known for its folklore about luck and wealth and hosts a sunrise event with food and performances.

Mt. Geumosan in Hadong offers sunrise views over the Dadohae islands from its 849-meter peak.

Cheonwangbong Peak in Sancheong, the highest point of Mount Jiri, offers one of Korea’s most dramatic winter sunrises.

Five quiet destinations highlight snow and sea views

Bito Island in Sacheon shows large tidal flats during low tide and offers peaceful winter scenery.

Yongseondae near Gwanryongsa Temple in Changnyeong is known for its stone Buddha and a tradition of wish-making.

Seolli Skywalk in Namhae has glass viewing decks above the winter coast and a swing installed high over the sea.

Daebong Skyland Monorail in Hamyang travels nearly four kilometers to the upper slopes of Daebongsan, with different views on each route.

Gayasan in Hapcheon, home to Haeinsa Temple, is recognized for its winter forests and mountain scenery.

Six destinations focusing on family activities and education

Gimhae Gaya Theme Park features performances, exhibits and winter sledding areas.

Miryang Arirang Space Observatory offers stargazing with large telescopes and themed projection programs.

Eden Valley Ski Resort in Yangsan has slopes for all skill levels and night skiing. Haman Museum and the nearby Malisan Tombs exhibit relics from Ara Gaya with digital displays.

Goseong Eagle Ecological Center hosts more than 500 migratory eagles each winter and allows guided feeding programs.

Suseungdae Sledding Hill in Geochang provides wide slopes with views of the surrounding valley.
