Jinyangho Park in Jinju, one of the city’s most beloved natural attractions, is now covered in a brilliant tapestry of autumn colors, drawing a steady stream of visitors eager to enjoy the late fall scenery.

Framed by mountains and a lakeside horizon that glows with sunset light, the park offers a mix of nature, relaxation, and cultural experiences, making it a leading family destination in Gyeongnam Province.

Beyond its seasonal beauty, Jinyangho Park has evolved into a comprehensive cultural and leisure space, combining exhibitions, performances, and hands-on activities throughout the year.

Lakeside Views and Walking Trails

Highlights include the Family Rest Area (Hamo Play Forest), ideal for picnics and children’s outings, and the Jinyangho Observatory, offering sweeping views of the lake. The Jinyangho Lakeside Trail allows visitors to stroll through cypress forests while enjoying the tranquil atmosphere of the waterfront. The Sunset Deck Road is another favorite, where visitors can enjoy golden-hour views reflected across the water, a serene spot that remains popular year-round.

Cultural Performances and Community Programs

The park’s Acheon Book Café, overlooking the lake, serves as a cultural hub, hosting rooftop concerts, author meetups, reading therapy sessions, and youth book clubs. Since its opening in 2022, it has welcomed more than 45,000 visitors. Nearby, the Dynamic Plaza located at the rear entrance near the “Dream Growing Hill” has become a weekend gathering space for families, hosting seasonal festivals and children’s events.

In October, the park held the Jinyangho Picnic Concert, combining live music with forest healing programs, which received an enthusiastic response.

The upcoming Jinyangho Snowflake Festival in winter is expected to offer Christmas-themed performances and activities for families.

Zoo and Woodland Experiences

The park’s landmark Jinyangho Zoo has recently expanded its exhibits, adding seven new species, including wallaroos, alpacas, prairie dogs, mandarin ducks, and parrots. From September through December, the zoo is hosting ecological education sessions, allowing visitors to learn about animal habitats and behaviors from professional zookeepers.

Jinyangho Woodland continues to attract visitors with hands-on woodworking and eco-friendly craft programs.

Activities such as DIY woodcrafts, coding-based carpentry, seasonal forest experiences, and children’s play spaces make it a popular destination for families seeking both creativity and relaxation.
