Ulsan City, in collaboration with the Taehwagang Ecotourism Council, will operate the “Taehwagang Silver Grass Ecological Experience Zone” from October 20 to November 23 beneath Naehwanggyo Bridge in Myeongchon-dong, Buk-gu.
The zone will be open daily, including holidays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., though it will close during rainy weather.
A resident natural environment interpreter will be on-site to guide visitors through the ecological characteristics of wetland plants found in the Taehwagang estuary, including silver grass (Miscanthus sinensis), reed grass, and other native wetland species, while explaining the differences among them.
Visitors can enjoy various hands-on programs such as exploring the silver grass colony, taking Polaroid photos at the designated photo zone, making winter bird pin badges, and playing with silver grass bubble toys.
The city hopes the experience zone will help citizens better appreciate the seasonal beauty and ecological value of the Taehwagang wetlands.
