Yangsan has officially expanded its signature attraction list, moving from the long-established “Yangsan Eight Scenic Spots” to a broader “Yangsan Twelve Scenic Spots” that highlights natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and city landmarks across the region.
The city announced that it finalized the new list as part of efforts to diversify local tourism assets and promote balanced regional development ahead of the 2026 Visit Yangsan Year campaign.
The original list included Yeongchuksan Tongdosa, Cheonseongsan, Naewonsa Valley, Hongnyong Falls, Baenaegol, Cheontaesan, Obongsan Imgyungdae, and Daewunsan Recreation Forest.
Four destinations have now been added: Hwangsan Park, Beopgi Reservoir, Yangsan Tower, and Gayajin Shrine.
Hwangsan Park has been gaining popularity as a family-friendly destination throughout the year, while Beopgi Reservoir is known for its tranquil cedar forest trail and waterside scenery.
Yangsan Tower, now a recognizable city landmark, offers enhanced night views and an expanded observation experience, attracting more visitors.
Gayajin Shrine, designated as local cultural heritage, preserves the tradition of the Gayajin Dragon Festival and provides a setting where historical meaning is paired with natural beauty.
The city plans to use the expanded list as the foundation for new tourism strategies, including themed travel courses, programs linked with local businesses, social media promotion, and infrastructure upgrades.
The goal is to create more stay-type tourism experiences and raise the national profile of Yangsan as a travel destination.
