Seoul is bringing a new season of public media art to the city with the launch of its 2026 spring exhibitions under the “Media Art Seoul” program, transforming public spaces into large-scale outdoor galleries after dark.
The spring exhibitions officially begin on May 22 with the opening of Atelier Nodeul beneath Hangang Bridge at Nodeul Island.
The city will simultaneously operate five media art platforms across Seoul, including Atelier Gwanghwa, Haechi Madang Media Wall, Ogansugyo Media Facade, and Seoulro Media Canvas.
A total of 25 works by established and emerging Korean and international artists, along with citizen-participation content, will be showcased.
In line with energy-saving policies, the exhibitions will run daily from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., allowing visitors to experience outdoor digital art throughout Seoul during evening hours.
Atelier Nodeul, which opened last November, will present its first 2026 exhibition, The Origin of All Beginnings, featuring seven works organized into sections themed around art, companionship, and charm.
Around Gwanghwamun Square, Atelier Gwanghwa and the Haechi Madang Media Wall will showcase eight spring-themed works that reinterpret seasonal landscapes and urban scenery through digital art.
Other venues include the Ogansugyo Media Facade along Cheonggyecheon, where eco-themed works will highlight the stream’s natural vitality, and Seoulro Media Canvas near Seoul Station, which will feature seven pieces centered on daily life, nature, and experimental media art.
The five exhibition platforms will continue with seasonal programs throughout the year as Seoul expands its public media art initiative and nighttime cultural offerings across the city.
