The Miryang Arirang Festival has been officially selected as a Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism–designated Cultural Tourism Festival for 2026–2027.

The ministry selected 27 festivals nationwide based on factors such as cultural value, content quality, and tourism impact. Miryang Arirang Festival was the only festival from Gyeongsangnam-do to be included on the list.

Festivals designated as Cultural Tourism Festivals receive government support for two years, including national funding, promotional assistance, and tourism-linked marketing programs.

Held around Yeongnamnu Pavilion and along the Miryang River, the Miryang Arirang Festival centers on Miryang Arirang, one of the region’s most recognizable cultural assets.

The festival features a mix of traditional performances, exhibitions, and hands-on programs that bring together residents and visitors.

This year’s 68th Miryang Arirang Festival is scheduled to take place from May 7 to May 10.
