The 21st Namhae Garlic and Hanwoo Festival will take place from June 11 to 14 at the Namhae Exile Literature Museum, celebrating two of the county’s best-known agricultural products with food, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

Under the theme “Namhae, a Place of Rest for the People,” this year’s festival will highlight locally produced garlic and Hanwoo beef while offering a variety of cultural performances and hands-on experiences for visitors.

One of the festival’s most popular attractions, the Hanwoo grill zone, has been expanded to nearly twice its previous size. A new pork grill area has also been added, providing more space for visitors to enjoy local livestock products.

The garlic sales area has been relocated to the center of the festival grounds and upgraded with large tents and a free delivery service for shoppers.

The festival program includes an opening ceremony, live performances, fireworks, a garlic-braiding competition, youth busking events, and the Namhae Love Harmony Song Festival. Visitors can also participate in daily agricultural product auctions featuring local specialties at discounted prices.

Family-oriented activities include VR experiences and local bakery pop-up booths.

Adding to the atmosphere, the festival will host a public viewing event for South Korea’s opening 2026 FIFA World Cup group-stage match.

The national team’s game on June 12 at 11 a.m. will be broadcast live on a large LED screen at the main stage, allowing residents and visitors to cheer on Korea together while enjoying the festival.
