Sky Forest Trail, a 1.45-kilometer barrier-free walkway linking the Namsan Fitness Center in Huam-dong to the Namsan Library has been opened.

The new eco-friendly deck trail offers improved accessibility for all, including seniors and those with mobility challenges, while allowing visitors to enjoy panoramic views of the city, the Han River, and Mount Gwanak.

The trail features 16 scenic and rest points, including eight viewing decks such as Sunset Observatory and Wind Bridge, where visitors can take in the skyline and autumn foliage.

Relaxation zones like the Pine Rest Area and Healing Garden provide spaces for forest bathing and quiet reflection.

Near the library, the newly created Sowol Garden, inspired by poet Kim Sowol, celebrates the blend of nature and literature.

Built with minimal environmental disruption, the trail preserves Namsan’s ecosystem through lightweight construction, the protection of existing trees, and dedicated wildlife corridors.

It also includes eco-restoration areas planted with native species grown from local seeds.
