Miryang has recommended five destinations for the Chuseok holiday, combining some of the city’s best-known historical and natural attractions with new places to explore.
Yeongnamnu Pavilion, a National Treasure overlooking the Miryang River, can be paired with the new Yeongnamnu Starlight Garden, currently in trial operation. Visitors can explore the riverside during the day before returning for illuminated nighttime scenery.
Eoreumgol Mystery Theme Hall, which opened in August, offers an indoor option for families. The exhibition and experience center explores Eoreumgol’s unusual natural phenomenon, where ice forms during the summer, through displays and media art.
For a quieter walk, Wiyangji Pond features an easy waterside trail surrounding Wanjaejeong Pavilion, while Pyochungsa Temple at the foot of Jaeyaksan combines forest scenery with historical sites connected to Buddhist monk and military leader Samyeong Daesa. A large outdoor children’s playground is also located nearby.
The fifth recommendation is Yongdusan Ecological Park along the Miryang River. Visitors can follow its cliffside walkway or head to the Snail Observatory for views across the city.
The five destinations were selected to provide families with a mix of daytime walks, history, indoor experiences and evening attractions during the holiday.
