Ulsan is adding a new way to explore its signature green spaces with the launch of the Ulsan Carriage, an electric powered sightseeing vehicle designed to make city tourism more relaxed and enjoyable.

Inspired by bicycle taxis seen in other global cities, the Ulsan Carriage was developed as an eco friendly tourism option that fits the city’s identity as a garden city.

Following a consignment agreement with the Ulsan Culture and Tourism Foundation in July 2024, a total of 15 carriages were produced and completed by December.

The carriages will operate in two of Ulsan’s most popular scenic areas, Taehwagang National Garden and Ulsan Grand Park. Each carriage seats up to four passengers, with elevated seating about two meters above ground to provide open views of the surrounding landscapes. Quiet electric motors and live driver commentary are designed to offer a comfortable sightseeing experience.

After a trial and stabilization period running through February, full paid operations will begin in March.

Rides will depart every 20 minutes, with each tour lasting about 40 minutes. The standard fare is around 10,000 won per person, with a 50% discount available for Ulsan residents, seniors aged 65 and over, multi-child families, and military personnel.

Reservations and payments can be made online or on site through the Wat eo Ulsan smart tourism app.
