Sancheong peonies in full bloom

Peonies are blooming in Sancheong-gun in Sancheong-eup, a village under the Ungseokbong peak of Jirisan Mountain.

The flowers are planted each year and used for medicinal purposes which are known to be particularly helpful to women to get over menstrual irregularities and after childbirth.

Recently beginning to bloom, these beautiful flowers were cultivated for ornamental purposes.
