Seo-gu District is embracing a purple theme throughout June as part of a campaign to welcome visitors attending the BTS World Tour Arirang in Busan concerts on June 12 and 13.

The district has launched a “Purple Village” project highlighting local attractions, particularly amid growing international interest in Ami-dong, a neighborhood whose name has drawn attention from BTS fans due to its similarity to ARMY, the group’s global fan community.

Several landmarks are being illuminated in purple, including the Songdo Cloud Walk near the Songdo Marine Cable Car and the Yonggung Cloud Bridge, which connects Amnam Park with Dongseom Island. The special lighting will operate nightly from sunset until 11 p.m. throughout June.

Ami-dong’s Tombstone Culture Village is also receiving a purple makeover, with vacant homes, walls, and rest areas being painted in the signature color. One vacant house will serve as a message wall where visitors can leave notes and greetings, creating a lasting attraction beyond the concert period.

The district is also installing 90 welcome banners featuring local landmarks along major routes leading into Ami-dong and around Naewonjeongsa Temple.

In addition, the Cheonmasan Observatory Complex will open temporarily beginning June 9, giving visitors access to its skywalk, rooftop observatory, sculpture park, and ecological exhibition facilities.

To improve transportation during the concert period, Seo-gu will also extend operating hours for Village Bus Route 1, which serves accommodations designated for international visitors.

The final bus departure will be extended from 10:50 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
