Seoul is welcoming the season of golden leaves with the selection of 110 Autumn Foliage Trails across the city, offering citizens and visitors a chance to experience the vibrant colors of fall without leaving the urban landscape.

This year, the city added seven new routes to last year’s list of 103, including Mok-dong 13 Complex Alley, Anyangcheon Embankment Trail, and the scenic Yongwangsan and Sinjeongsan Forest Trails.

Other highlights include Dalmaeul and Galsan Parks, where visitors can relax amid crimson foliage, and Olympic-ro, where rows of golden ginkgo trees line the streets between Amsa History Park and the Prehistoric Heritage Site.

Altogether, Seoul’s 110 foliage routes stretch 167 kilometers and feature around 72,000 trees, including ginkgo, zelkova, cherry, and metasequoia.

The city noted that ginkgo trees, making up 34.7% of Seoul’s street trees, create some of the most iconic autumn scenes with their brilliant yellow leaves.

To help residents enjoy the season, Seoul classified the routes into four themes: urban walking paths, riverside trails, park-linked walks, and mountain strolls.

Details about each route, including maps and nearby attractions, can be found on the Seoul City website and Smart Seoul Map.
