Frida Kahlo-inspired botanical art exhibition opens at Seoul Botanic Park

Seoul Botanic Park is bringing the vibrant world of Frida Kahlo to life this summer with “Botanic Garden Becomes an Art Museum: Plants Loved by Frida,” a special exhibition running through August 17.
Now in its second year, the annual art and garden project explores the relationship between plants, nature, and art.
Following last year’s exhibition inspired by Claude Monet, this year’s event focuses on the iconic Mexican artist, showcasing the plants featured in her paintings alongside immersive displays celebrating Mexico’s landscapes and culture.
The exhibition transforms spaces from the Sunken Garden to the conservatory with colorful installations inspired by Mexico’s flower markets, Kahlo’s Casa Azul (Blue House), and traditional village festivals. Visitors can also view replica artworks and themed botanical displays.
A wide range of cultural programs will accompany the exhibition, including classical concerts, documentary screenings, curator talks, greenhouse tours, botanical drawing workshops, craft activities, and hands-on experiences for both children and adults.
Visitors can also take part in a stamp rally throughout the exhibition spaces.
Admission to the exhibition is free, while selected workshops require advance registration or on-site sign-up.
