Seoul’s DDP is turning into a full-scale winter fantasy as Seoul Light DDP Winter 2025 kicks off on December 18.
This year’s edition merges the world’s largest irregular media façade with a glowing Christmas town packed with lights, characters, and immersive installations.
Running through December 31 under the theme “EVERGLOW: A Place That Shines Forever,” the entire DDP complex including its curved exterior walls, plazas, bridges, and walkways becomes a multi-sensory holiday experience.
Popular Characters Illuminate the Façade
This winter’s media art features collaborations with well-loved characters including Haechi and Soul Friends, LINE FRIENDS and minini, and Iyaiya & Friends. Their stories unfold across the 222-meter display, bringing a warm, whimsical ambiance to the building’s exterior.
A Walk-Through Christmas Town
For the first time, the media façade extends into the physical space. Visitors can explore dozens of illuminated photo zones, large-scale character installations, and themed decorations throughout the Oullim Square, Palgori, and the Miraero walkway.
At Miraero, the DDP Luminarie stretches from the bridge to the exterior walls, blending architecture and light into a single glowing structure. On the grassy hill, 180 “Wishing Crystals” shift colors to music, symbolizing visitors’ hopes rising into the night sky.
Edge-of-Winter Performances and Opening Ceremony
The December 18 opening event features a fantasy-themed show with dancers, circus performers, and characters like Haechi in a holiday reinterpretation of The Nutcracker.
Massive New Year’s Countdown on December 31
DDP’s annual countdown celebration continues to be one of Seoul’s most popular year-end gatherings, drawing up to 40,000 people. This year’s event will be livestreamed globally, blending G-DRAGON–linked ZO&FRIENDS, LINE FRIENDS characters, fireworks, DJ sets by Park Myung-soo, and performances by the band Solutions.
Special Events and Giveaways
During the festival, visitors can redeem event goods with DDP Market receipts, enjoy partner benefits at nearby malls and exhibitions, and join SNS and QR-code events for prizes.
Seoul Light DDP Winter 2025 runs for 14 days, transforming one of the city’s most iconic architectural spaces into a glowing, high-energy celebration of light, art, and the holiday season.
