Seoul is expanding cultural access for young people this summer through its Seoul Youth Culture Pass and Spring Day of Performances programs, offering discounted and free access to performances, exhibitions and cultural events.

The city said the programs are designed to encourage cultural participation among teenagers and young adults while also supporting the local performing arts industry.

The Seoul Youth Culture Pass provides residents aged 21 to 23 with up to 200,000 won annually for cultural activities, including theater, musicals, exhibitions, dance, classical music and traditional performances. Since launching in 2023, the program has supported nearly 100,000 young adults, with satisfaction rates continuing to rise each year.

This year, the program has been expanded with rolling applications, longer usage periods and increased participant numbers.

The Spring Day of Performances initiative offers free performances for students and families. The program, which began as a pilot project in 2021, is expected to reach around 80,000 participants this year through approximately 180 performances.

Upcoming summer programs include theater productions, orchestral performances, musicals, traditional arts and interactive family-friendly shows presented in partnership with Seoul’s major cultural institutions.

Applications for the Seoul Youth Culture Pass can be submitted through the city’s youth portal, while reservations for Spring Day of Performances programs are available through the official website.
