Seoul Grand Park will run a hands-on educational program titled Run with the Red Horse! from February 9 to 28, marking the Year of the Red Horse in the lunar calendar.
The program is designed to help visitors learn about endangered species conservation through play-based activities and guided interpretation.
Sessions will take place inside the First Africa Pavilion, home to the park’s zebras. Participants will join animal interpreters to learn about zebras, ponies, donkeys, and other odd-toed ungulates such as rhinos and tapirs, while exploring how the role of zoos has evolved from exhibition spaces to conservation centers. Quizzes, photo zones, and a conservation pledge activity are included.
Traditional games such as yutnori, ddakji, and paper drawing activities are also incorporated, linking cultural traditions with environmental awareness.
At the end of the program, participants choose one of five eco-friendly actions to practice in daily life and receive a small souvenir.
The program runs on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with four sessions per day lasting about 35 minutes each.
Participation is free, though zoo admission applies.
Advance reservations opened February 2 through the Seoul Grand Park website or the Seoul Public Service Reservation system.
