A new interactive rest space called Handeul Handeul has made its debut at Seoul Plaza, offering citizens a whimsical place to relax and unwind amid the autumn breeze.
The installation will be open to the public from October 31 to November 2, coinciding with the final weekend of the Seoul Outdoor Library.
Designed with the concept of gentle swaying—like lying on a hammock in nature—Handeul Handeul uses net-like materials to create a unique resting experience.
The space comes in three different models large, medium, and small inspired by lotus leaves and flowers.
The larger models allow visitors to recline and gaze up at the sky, while the smaller model takes a playful turn, drawing inspiration from the rotating playground rides of childhood to encourage active, fun relaxation.
This new installation follows Haneul Haneul, the popular rest space unveiled at the 2024 Seoul International Garden Expo in Boramae Park, which has since become a permanent feature there.
Unlike its predecessor, Handeul Handeul was designed as a mobile structure, allowing it to be showcased at major city festivals and events that attract both citizens and tourists.
Following its trial run at Seoul Plaza, Handeul Handeul will be relocated to future public events, including the next Seoul International Garden Expo, where it will continue to offer visitors a creative and interactive way to rest and enjoy the city.
