Han River Bus to add Seoul Forest Stop during International Garden Show

Visitors heading to the Seoul International Garden Show will soon be able to arrive by water, with the Han River Bus adding a new stop at Seoul Forest Pier beginning June 8.

The seasonal service will operate through the end of October, with boats stopping at Seoul Forest 16 times daily. The new route connects Jamsil, Ttukseom, Seoul Forest, Oksu or Apgujeong, and Yeouido, offering a convenient alternative for visitors traveling to the popular garden festival.

The Seoul International Garden Show, running through October 27, spans Seoul Forest, the Han River waterfront, and parts of Seongsu-dong. Covering more than 710,000 square meters and featuring 167 gardens, the event has become one of Seoul’s most successful tourism attractions, drawing more than one million visitors within its first week this year.

To accommodate the new stop, operating hours have been extended to allow passengers to enjoy sunset views along the river. The eastern route will run from 11 a.m. until approximately 9:28 p.m., while the western route will operate from 11:20 a.m. until around 8:32 p.m.

Ahead of the launch, Seoul completed dredging work, removed underwater debris, and expanded navigation channels around the pier to ensure safe operations. Additional docking and navigation training has also been carried out for vessel crews.

Visitor facilities have been upgraded as well. Elevator replacements on the Seongsu Cloud Bridge, improved pedestrian walkways, new access routes, temporary restrooms, and riverside viewing decks have all been added to make travel between the pier and Seoul Forest more convenient.

The Han River Bus continues to grow in popularity, recording a monthly ridership record of 91,126 passengers in May, up nearly 19% from April.
