Seoul Kids Week will debut from May 1 to 7, transforming the city into a weeklong playground to mark Children’s Day.
The initiative brings together public play spaces, outdoor programs, and cultural activities aimed at giving families more accessible and affordable options during the holiday period.
On May 5, dozens of “Seoul-style” kids cafés across the city will remain open despite the public holiday, with around 60 locations offering free admission.
Special programs such as magic shows, music experiences, and interactive play sessions will also be available.
Outdoor pop-up play zones, branded as “Here and There Kids Cafés,” will operate free of charge in parks and plazas from May 2 to 3, with select locations extending through the holiday. Mobile play spaces will also appear at major festivals across the city.
New facilities will open in tandem with the event, including a forest-themed outdoor play space at Seoul Forest and an indoor kids café at Seoul Botanic Park.
The city will also reissue its “Kids Café Money,” offering a 20% discount at participating private venues, while Seoul Children’s Museum will host a new interactive exhibition and family programs.
Officials say the initiative is designed to ease childcare costs while expanding everyday access to play and cultural spaces.
