Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon attended the Seoul Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Monday, November 17, at 7 p.m., where he lit the tree and offered wishes for peace and comfort to all citizens.

The Seoul Plaza Christmas Tree has been a beloved winter tradition for more than 60 years, first installed in the 1960s and now firmly established as one of the city’s signature year-end landmarks.

This year’s tree stands 20 meters tall and features haedanghwa blossoms—flowers symbolizing hope and courage—decorating the upper and middle sections.

The design reflects a message of love and renewal, shining light through uncertain times.

The tree will illuminate Seoul Plaza until January 1.
