Seoul Plaza Ice Rink has surpassed 100,000 visitors just 26 days after opening, reaffirming its status as one of the city’s most popular winter attractions.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the rink reached the milestone as of January 13, recording an average of around 4,000 visitors per day. This marks a clear increase compared to last season, when daily attendance averaged just over 3,200.

The 2025–2026 Seoul Plaza Ice Rink opened on December 19 and will remain in operation through February 8, welcoming families, couples, and a growing number of international visitors seeking an affordable winter activity in the heart of the city.

Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Sunday to Friday, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and public holidays. Admission is 1,000 won, with helmets and protective gear provided free of charge.

This season, the rink has been closely linked with Seoul Winter Festa, helping connect major downtown attractions such as Gwanghwamun Square, Cheonggyecheon, and DDP into a single winter tourism route. Many visitors combine daytime skating with evening light festivals and city illuminations.

The rink has also been redesigned under the theme “Winter Ring,” creating a warmer, more festive atmosphere with improved amenities suitable for all ages. An on site market space featuring regional food specialties has further boosted foot traffic.
