The 24th Seoul Silver Grass Festival, themed “Silver Grass, Colored with Light,” will open on October 18 at World Cup Park’s Haneul Park, filling the 60,000-pyeong field with shimmering silver grass, immersive media art, and autumn charm.
Running through October 24, this year’s festival promises a blend of nature, art, and technology, offering visitors a truly multisensory experience.
A Festival Illuminated by Light and Art
Since its inception in 2002, the Seoul Silver Grass Festival has become one of the city’s signature autumn events. This year’s edition features a wide range of attractions, including media art installations, interactive zones, art exhibitions, and wish zones where citizens can leave personal messages of hope. Visitors can also join the Photo Zone Stamp Tour, collecting stamps from five locations to receive limited-edition festival souvenirs.
The opening ceremony will take place on October 18 at 6:00 pm, beginning with a silver grass quiz, a media screening by artist Yang Min-ha, and a live calligraphy performance by Kim So-young. At 7:00 pm, the park’s central promenade will transform into a luminous landscape, showcasing a media art projection and light show that officially opens the festival.
Media Art and Sculptural Installations
From 7:00 to 8:30 pm daily, the “Breath of Light” interactive media display will illuminate the central path, while the “Virtual Pavilion” near the entrance will feature works by four digital artists. The Art Zone will showcase four large-scale installations, including dichroic sculptures by Park Yeo-joo and Jung Ji-yeon and LED art pieces by ASSOD, blending color, light, and nature in unique harmony.
