Families looking for a place to cool off this summer can visit the Seoul Water Reclamation Experience Center, which will operate its free children’s splash park through August 30.

The seasonal attraction combines water play with environmental education, allowing children to enjoy outdoor activities while learning about the water cycle through interactive exhibits.

The 1,052-square-meter splash park is designed for children aged 3 to 10 and features a variety of water attractions, including interactive fountains, water play structures, sound pipes, and multi-play equipment. Water depth is kept below 30 centimeters, and non-slip surfaces have been installed throughout the facility.

The splash park will operate in two daily sessions, from noon to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with admission limited to 70 children per session. During the first weekend of August, operating hours will be extended until 8 p.m.

Admission is free, but advance reservations are required. The facility will be closed on Mondays, public holidays, and during rainy weather.

Amenities include changing rooms, outdoor showers, and shaded rest areas. Operators said the water will be replaced daily, with regular water quality testing and on-site safety staff throughout the season.

More than 15,000 visitors used the splash park last summer.

Running alongside the outdoor attraction is the interactive exhibition “The Water Cycle,” which uses games, building blocks, and hands-on activities to explain how water moves through nature, cities, and water treatment facilities before returning to the environment.

Reservations for both the splash park and exhibition can be made through Seoul’s public reservation system, with admission to the exhibition also free.
