The Taejongdae Hydrangea Flower Culture Festival will return from July 4 to 12, bringing live performances, exhibitions and family-friendly activities back to one of the city’s best-known summer attractions.

The festival will take place throughout the Taejongdae Hydrangea Colony, including Taejongsa Temple and the surrounding sports park.

The event is supported by the Busan Tourism Organization and Taejongsa Temple.

The festival officially opens at 4 p.m. on July 4 with a pre-opening performance, opening ceremony, and a classical concert in the hydrangea garden.

Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy photo zones set among the hydrangeas, weekend busking performances, hands-on experience booths, a flea market and food trucks.

The hydrangea gardens at Taejongdae have become one of Busan’s signature summer destinations, attracting thousands of visitors each year when the flowers reach full bloom overlooking the coast.

The festival was suspended after 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and a declining flower bloom before returning successfully last year.
