Tongyeong City has announced the results of its nationwide contest themed “Art on the Sea, Tongyeong Bridge Embracing Jeon Hyuk-lim’s Harvest Ritual,” held from November 2025 through January 2026 to showcase the bridge’s newly renovated appearance.

The competition was organized following the recent refurbishment of Tongyeong Bridge, completed 27 years after its original construction in 1998.

The upgrades addressed aging infrastructure and enhanced the cityscape, while also incorporating a large-scale art graphic inspired by the late abstract artist Jeon Hyuk-lim’s work Pungeoje across the bridge’s truss arch structure.

More than 250 participants from across the country submitted approximately 500 photographs and 90 video entries.

In the photography category, the grand prize went to “Napoli Landscape,” while top honors were also awarded to works capturing sunset and nighttime views of the bridge.

In the video category, three productions highlighting the bridge’s artistic identity and nighttime scenery were selected as winning entries.

An outdoor exhibition will run from the 13th to the 22nd at Gangguan Cultural Square, featuring around 70 photographs and 13 video works, including prize-winning pieces.
