Tongyeong Cable Car to offer rare night rides during Hansan Battle Festival

Visitors will have a rare opportunity to experience Tongyeong Cable Car after dark during the 65th Tongyeong Hansan Battle Festival, with special nighttime operations scheduled for August 14.
The extended service coincides with “Hansan Victory Night,” a special evening event at the cable car’s upper observatory featuring traditional Korean music performances, including daegeum and gagok, alongside panoramic views of Tongyeong Harbor.
Visitors will also be able to watch the festival’s nighttime reenactment of the historic Battle of Hansan taking place on the waters below.
The cable car, which normally does not operate at night except on special occasions, will run until 10:00 p.m., with ticket sales closing at 9:00 p.m.
The Tongyeong Hansan Battle Festival, running August 12–16, is one of the city’s signature events and features a program centered on evening performances, cultural events, and waterfront activities that showcase Tongyeong’s reputation as one of Korea’s leading nighttime tourism destinations.
