Tongyeong’s Udo Village in Yokji-myeon is hosting the 2nd Udo Village Peony Flower Festival already underway through May 17, running for 10 days during the peak blooming season.
The event is organized to attract visitors, support the local economy and strengthen the village community. It is planned and operated largely by residents, with the Udo Village Cooperative leading the effort as a community-driven festival.
Held around the village landscape site, the festival will feature peony flower viewing along with hands-on programs such as making peony tea, crafting peony-based drinks and creating souvenirs.
Visitors can also try local specialties, including seaweed bibimbap, and join guided forest walks to explore the island’s natural surroundings.
Preparations, including landscaping and site maintenance, have been carried out by residents, with promotion underway through social media and local channels to draw visitors.
