The international cycling race Tour de Gyeongnam 2026 will return from June 9 to 13, bringing elite riders from around the world to some of the South Coast’s most scenic routes.
Hosted by Gyeongnm province and organized in cooperation with the Gyeongsangnam-do Sports Council and the Korea Cycling Federation, the event is part of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Asia Tour and serves as one of Korea’s premier international road cycling competitions.
Now in its second year as an international event, the race is expected to feature approximately 250 riders from 25 professional and continental teams representing 19 countries.
The five-stage race will cover roughly 510 kilometers across Geoje, Tongyeong, Sacheon, Namhae, and Changwon.
The course follows sections of the Admiral Yi Sun-sin Victory Route, highlighting both the natural beauty of the South Coast and the historic sites associated with Korea’s legendary naval commander.
The Namhae stage will take place on June 12. Riders will depart from Seomyeon Sports Park at 9:30 a.m. and travel approximately 120 kilometers through major areas of the county, including Namhae-eup, Idong-myeon, Samdong-myeon, German Village, Mijo-myeon, Sangju Silver Sand Beach, and Seolcheon-myeon before finishing near the Haedodi Rest Area.
In addition to the race itself, spectators will be able to watch live race coverage on large screens at the awards ceremony venue near Noryang Parking Lot. Entertainment programs beginning at noon will include live performances, community events, and prize giveaways.
To ensure public safety and smooth traffic management, Namhae County will deploy approximately 220 personnel, including police officers, volunteer traffic controllers, and safety staff. Traffic control measures, information banners, and directional signage will also be installed throughout the race route.
Officials expect the event to not only deliver exciting competition but also provide valuable international exposure for Gyeongnam’s coastal destinations and tourism attractions.
