Tropical nights continue as heat grips Busan, Korea

Busan’s stretch of hot and humid weather continued over the weekend, with tropical nights persisting and beaches drawing large crowds seeking relief from the heat.
According to the Busan Regional Meteorological Administration, the city’s overnight low reached 26.9°C on Sunday morning, marking the fourth consecutive tropical night since July 10.
A tropical night is recorded when temperatures remain above 25°C overnight.
Daytime temperatures have also remained high. On Saturday, the official weather station in Jung-gu recorded a high of 32.5°C, while inland districts were even hotter, with Buk-gu reaching 33.5°C, Geumjeong-gu 33.4°C, and Busanjin-gu 32.9°C.
Forecasters expect the hot weather to continue through at least July 15, with daytime heat index values climbing to around 33°C.
As temperatures climbed, many residents and visitors headed to the coast. Last weekend, more than 189,000 people visited Haeundae Beach, while 138,622 visitors were counted at Gwangalli Beach.
