Ulsan will operate its “Spring Migratory Bird Tour Bus” from April 1 to July 31, offering guided birdwatching experiences across key ecological sites in and around the city.
The program, organized by the Taehwa River Ecotourism Council, is designed to provide accessible nature-based activities during the peak migratory season.
The tour runs twice daily at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, departing from the Taehwa River National Garden.
Each three-hour session includes commentary from two professional nature guides and visits to locations such as the Taehwa River, Ulsan Grand Park, and the Choi Je-woo Donghak Hall.
Routes vary by day, with some programs incorporating walking-based birdwatching in urban green spaces, while others extend to cultural sites including Wongang Seowon in Ulju County.
Saturday and Sunday routes feature expanded itineraries. Weekend tours include stops at ecological observation points such as reservoirs and lotus gardens, as well as historical landmarks tied to regional heritage. The Sunday course, in particular, highlights Wongang Seowon and surrounding natural areas, combining birdwatching with local history.
Participation is limited to 12 people per session and is free of charge, though participants must arrange personal insurance.
Registration opens April 1 via the council’s website, and schedules may be adjusted depending on weather conditions or environmental factors such as avian influenza.
