Namhae County has begun promoting Jodo Island as a wellness destination through a new “eco wedding island” project, aimed at combining tourism with small-scale event experiences.

The initiative’s first step took place on April 28, when a wedding photo shoot was held on the island. An influencer couple participated, with images highlighting Jodo’s coastal cliffs and surrounding seascape.

The main event is scheduled for June 14, when the county plans to host its first private eco wedding. The concept centers on a limited, small-scale ceremony using natural surroundings rather than conventional venues.

According to the county, participating couples will receive curated wedding setups and photography, while guests will be provided with locally sourced products. A small music performance and catering are also planned as part of the event.

Applications are currently open, with only two couples expected to be selected for the June event. Details on eligibility, application deadlines, and selection criteria are available through the Namhae County Office website and its official social media channels.
