When in Korea, try Asia's longest and highest ziplines

Korea Tourism Organization

If you ever wondered what it would feel like if humans could fly, you have to try a zipline! In between the thrill of bungee jumping and riding a roller coaster, this fun leisure sport allows riders to soar through the air from a higher point to a lower one, all safely attached to a wire rope. There are over ten different ziplines in Korea, including both the longest and the highest ziplines in Asia.

Namiseom Zipwire

Namiseom Zipwire is the largest in Asia, starting from a height of 80 meters, equal to that of a 25-story apartment building, and stretching 1 kilometer over the Bukhangang River to Namiseom Island. The view shows the outstanding beauty of the mountains in all four seasons, but is especially popular during sunset. Visitors should note the zipline only operates one way; you’ll have to take the ferry back from Namiseom Island.

Danyang Mancheonha Zipwire

The Danyang Mancheonha Zipwire starts at a height of 980 meters and ends at just 120 meters after crossing the Namhangang River. Riders can reach a speed of 50 kilometers per hour! There are two courses to choose from, the longer 680 meter course, and the shorter 300 meter course. Both courses showcase the beauty of the mountains and river. The zipline here is famous for having been built to cause the least amount of impact possible on the environment.
