The Yangsan Urban Railway has moved into its final verification stage as preparations accelerate toward a planned opening in November 2026.
Yangsan City announced that a full-scale comprehensive test run will begin on the 2nd, marking a key milestone in the project.
The testing process is designed to verify overall safety and operational reliability and will be carried out in three phases: preliminary inspections, facility verification tests, and commercial test operations.
During the test runs, authorities will closely examine train performance as well as the operation of core systems, including signaling, power supply, and communications, under real operating conditions. Repeated runs will also be used to confirm the stability of operating procedures and the overall management system.
As part of the commercial testing phase, Yangsan plans to offer limited citizen test rides to gather feedback from future passengers and reflect it in final service and safety improvements.
The testing is being conducted jointly by Busan Transportation Corporation and Woojin Metro Yangsan, the railway’s operator, with the city coordinating closely with all related agencies to ensure a smooth and thorough process.
