Yeosu Azalea Festival March 29-31

haps Magazine Korea

Get out and enjoy the colors of spring at the Yeosu Azalea Festival in Jeollanam-do which runs this weekend from Friday through Sunday.

Yeongchwisan Mountain, one of the three major azalea communities in Korea, celebrates the beginning of spring with a festival each April.

Beautiful azaleas bloom along Gangguksa, which is located alongside a hiking trail for about 30 minutes.

The azaleas in full bloom give the illusion that the mountain is sprayed with pink paint as the breathtaking scenery is one of the most beautiful sites around the country each spring.

Various events and outdoor performances taking place along the mountains and Heungguksa Temple makes the three-hour journey from Busan worth the trip.
