U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Far East District (FED) Deputy Commander, Lt. Col. Dennis J. McGee, participated in the Strength in Diversity Pledge Ceremony at the U.S. Forces Korea headquarters, May 13. The event was hosted by the USFK Strength in Diversity Council, which was created to tackle Gen. Abrams’ priority of Strength in Diversity. On behalf of the District, Lt. Col. McGee signed the pledge to commit FED to maximizing efforts in promoting an environment of diversity, inclusion, and equity.

USAG HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea — U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Far East District (FED) Deputy Commander, Lt. Col. Dennis J. McGee, participated in the Strength in Diversity Pledge Ceremony at the U.S. Forces Korea headquarters, May 13th. The event was hosted by the USFK Strength in Diversity Council, which was created to tackle Gen. Robert Abrams’ priority of Strength in Diversity. On behalf of the District, Lt. Col. McGee signed the pledge to commit FED to maximizing efforts in promoting an environment of diversity, inclusion, and equity.

“The Far East District valuse the unique differences of each of our employees, that is both theirs and our strength. As a matter of fact, our unique mission here in Korea, requires a diverse workforce in order to deliver on our commitments to our customers, here, in the Republic of Korea,” said McGee, after singing the pledge at the event.

The Far East District consists of people of different shapes and sizes, in many colors, with different religions, from many cultures, speaking many different languages.

Our collective actions and continued commitment to eliminating discrimination and promoting the benefits of a diverse and inclusive community will ensure an enduring and positive impact among all ranks of service members, civilians, and family members.

“It takes unity of effort and individual actions for a diverse and inclusive community,” said Lt. Col. Nicholas Williams, USFK Diversity and Inclusion Officer and organizer of the event, in his closing remarks. Williams stressed the importance of the actions and efforts of each individual in our daily life as well as leadership efforts for a diverse organization.
