In recognition of Armed Forces Day and Mental Health Awareness Month 2025, USO Camp Casey proudly partnered with the 168th Multifunctional Medical Battalion to host a meaningful and energizing 2.5-mile Run/Walk event. Held in the early hours of the morning, the event brought together Soldiers, community partners, and volunteers with one shared purpose: to foster physical well-being, promote mental health awareness, and demonstrate the strength of our Camp Casey community.

Held along the walking and bike path from the USO to Carey Fitness Center and back, the run/walk served as both a physical fitness opportunity and a powerful symbol of community solidarity and mental health awareness. More than 70 Soldiers participated in the event, demonstrating their support for emotional resilience, peer connection, and holistic well-being.

This meaningful program was made possible by the seamless collaboration between USO Camp Casey and key military and community leaders. The USO offered its facility as the starting and finishing point for the run and provided a welcoming space for follow-on programming. After the run, all participants were invited inside for a free breakfast provided by the USO, creating a warm and relaxed environment for service members to refuel, connect with one another, and engage with key support services.

In addition to logistical and hospitality support, the USO helped coordinate a unified community resource presence by inviting installation-wide partners to set up informational tables. These partners- Army Community Service, Army Emergency Relief, Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers, and American Red Cross introduced their key programs that offer family services, financial assistance, behavioral health support, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities. By bringing these providers together under one roof, the USO helped ensure that participants were seen and celebrated and equipped with tools and information to thrive.

As the nation celebrates Armed Forces Day, this event serves as a timely and impactful reminder of the USO’s enduring mission: to strengthen service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country. At USO Camp Casey, that mission means more than providing services—it means creating opportunities for service members to feel seen, supported, and united with the broader community.

From hosting the venue to feeding the force, USO Camp Casey proudly reinforces its role as the heart of the community, supporting the troops every step of the way.
