Camp Casey, Korea - Since opening its doors in 1962, USO Casey has become a popular place for service members to spend their limited free time. The base itself serves as a vitally important training platform for permanently assigned units, such as the 210th Field Artillery Brigade, 2ID support units, as well as for the Army’s nine-month rotational brigades deployed from CONUS. USO Casey serves to connect troops with home, family, and country by offering wholesome programs and opportunities to relax and balance well-being with mission demands. USO Casey also maintains unstaffed lounges at Warrior Base and Rodriguez Range for these same reasons. In an effort to remain relevant, USO Casey has completed a ninety-day full renovation of our center in Bldg S-2648 to offer the most updated amenities and services to our troops.

USO Casey moved into the current building S-2648 in 2013 and it has served us well these nine years. Accordingly, the nonprofit USO decided to close its doors for three months to renovate the center; during this construction period, we moved to a smaller location so that troops could still enjoy our offerings and programs. The USO made it a priority to ensure service members and the community were taken care of, even during the refurbishments.

On 5 August 2022, USO Casey completed their center renovation project that started in May 2022 and held a USO “ribbon cutting” ceremony, unveiling a newly modernized center to support our patrons and community. More than two-hundred Soldiers and members of the military community turned out for this spectacular event. USAG Yongsan-Casey community and Command Team helped open the center during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, with Garrison Commander Colonel Loyd W. Brown commenting, “We are thankful for the great services the USO brings to the Camp Casey and Hovey community.”

“The goal for the renovation of USO Casey was to modernize, improve, and remain relevant with our patrons. This includes an update of furniture, furnishings, and equipment, a slight modification of the floor plan, and rearranging & improving our furniture, vendors, games, activities, and overall atmosphere to enhance the experience of our service & family members. We anticipate the renovated space and updated offerings will bring more patrons into the center.” said Jieun Song, USO Casey center manager, who was also the lead designer of the new space.

The newly renovated USO has twelve computer stations, an air hockey table, a pool table, a gaming room with eight individual gaming stations with a variety of games to select from, as well as our traditional lounge area with 85-inch tv for those relaxing days. Other services available include Wi-Fi, streaming services, charging stations, and printing which service members can utilize to bring them closer to home and family. Snacks and drinks are always available for you.

USO has been striving to fulfill its mission to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to families, home, and country, throughout their service to our nation. With a door open every day of the week, USO is truly a home away from home.
