The students and staff of Humphreys Middle School held their annual violence prevention month observance on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in the auditorium. The event begin with both Assistant Principals Ms. Natalya Cho and Ms. Dawn Pilon providing opening remarks. Afterwards, the winners of the anti-bullying classroom door decoration contest were announced:

Pacific West District Superintendent Dr. Jacob Sherwood, Pacific West District Community Superintendent Dr. Helen Bailey, Pacific West Chief of Staff Mr. James Strait, Pacific West District Instructional System Specialist Ms. Kaitlyn Aleong, and the following visiting members from DoDEA Headquarters (Mr. Josh Adams, Mr. Antoine Sharpe, and Ms. Lisa Greene) served as judges.
Afterwards, students serving as the mistress and master of ceremonies begin part two of the program by showing a short video featuring the history and purpose of the anti-bullying campaign started by Pacers National Bullying Prevention Center in 2006.
Next four special guest, Special Agents: Mr. Gabreil Ricks, Mr. Zachery Bruno, Mr. Lafayette Spears, and Ms. Paige Julianne Cogsdill from the General Crimes Team1 and Team 2 at the Far East Field Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) located on Camp Humphreys Army Base answered questions from the students regarding violence prevention and bullying.
Another short video was shown featuring motivational speaker Mr. Jeremy Anderson. He demonstrated the effects of bullying and the impact it has on students, families, schools, and the community.
The highlight of the violence prevention observance was the closing performance of 31 students from the Humphreys Middle School choir, 32 students from the Fifth-grade choir, and 20 guitar players singing Taylor Swift’s song “Mean” led by Humphreys Middle School Music Teacher Ms. Susan Ford.

Mr. Michael Robinson, the event organizer and Administrative Officer at Humphreys Middle School personally thanked all participants for making the violence prevention observance a success. He presented certificates of appreciation signed by Humphreys Middle School Assistant Principals: Ms. Natalya Cho and Ms. Dawn Pilon to the four special guest from CID, Humphreys Middle School choir, Fifth grade choir, and the mistress and master of ceremonies.
