KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Staff Sgt. Nathan Wemhoff, 8th Healthcare Operations Squadron NCO in charge of ambulance services, was recognized as ‘Pride of the Pack’ for the week of Jan. 2-6, 2023.

Wemhoff leads a team of 12 members, overseeing emergency medical response for the entire base. Additionally, he was tasked to fill in as the flight chief for lab and ambulance services, taking on an additional four members. As the flight chief, he was able to procure $35K, securing five short notice paramedic refresher courses, allowing the team to continue medical coverage with zero lapse in their national certification.

Another of his many accomplishments was to attain the first Korean ambulance for the wing, enabling staff to continue to provide 24/7 advanced life support coverage for the base. During the 8th Medical Group’s training day, he coordinated with the fire department to get eight members certified to drive the ambulance, allowing the emergency medical technicians to be able to provide more hands-on with patients while on transport.
