Recently, Airman Silvia was alerted to a potential emergency on the installation while off duty. Senior Airman Silva immediately utilized her years of training and experience to assess the situation to determine the best approach for response, mitigating the potential impact on base assets and the Airmen serving on Kunsan AB. “I was called in on my day off by my supervisor who stated that we had a situation and I had five minutes to get out the door,” said Silva. “Dirty and I were able to get out to the location and prevent any damage from happening.” Silva plays an integral role in base defense as part of the 8th SFS’s military working unit. Her duties along with her MWD partner Dirty/D328, include the detection of explosives and narcotics and general deterrence. Silva hopes to continue serving in the Air Force as a military training instructor or a first sergeant in the future and is passionate about developing the Airmen who are trusted in her care. Congratulations to Senior Airman Silva and thank you for your dedication and leadership to the Airmen of the Wolf Pack.
