Nambu-myeon Hydrangea Festival

Nambu-myeon Hydrangea Festival (Geoje City)

The 8th Nambu-myeon Hydrangea Festival on Geoje Island will take place on June 28 and 29 in the Jeogu Port area of Nambu-myeon, celebrating the region’s signature summer bloom under the slogan “Hydrangeas, Walking Through Summer.”

The event invites visitors to stroll through vibrant hydrangea-lined paths that showcase the village’s distinct coastal scenery.

The two-day festival features a lineup of performances, experience zones, and local markets.

On the 28th, a commemorative ceremony will follow a pre-event concert, highlighted by a performance from singer Kim Tae-yeon, known for the song Healing, which represents Geoje.

The festival’s centerpiece is the hydrangea garden running along Jeogu Village’s coastal road, where clusters of blue and purple blooms meet the sea and surrounding hillsides. Hydrangeas extend beyond the port into the village, decorating streets and paths throughout Nambu-myeon and enriching the scenic experience.

In addition to food trucks, busking, and flea markets, interactive activities include a ‘Stamp Walk’ to local attractions, a ‘Hydrangea Photo Road’ walk, and a ‘Water Appreciation Garden Art’ display. Small gifts will be distributed to event participants on a first-come basis, and attendees who present receipts from local cafés and restaurants can receive a potted hydrangea.

Hydrangeas in the region typically bloom from mid-June through mid-July, providing visitors a month-long window to enjoy the area’s floral charm.
