Air Busan is set to increase flights on its popular Busan-Matsuyama route in anticipation of the upcoming winter peak season.
Starting from September 16th until October 26th, the airline will boost the frequency from three to five weekly flights, adding Monday and Thursday to the current Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday schedule.
Flights from Busan to Matsuyama will depart Gimhae International Airport at 4:30 p.m., arriving in Matsuyama at 5:35 p.m. local time.
Return flights will leave Matsuyama at 6:30 p.m. and land in Busan at 8 p.m. The service will utilize Airbus A320 aircraft, which seats 180 passengers.
Air Busan was the first domestic carrier to introduce the Busan-Matsuyama route in November last year, catering to Japan’s growing trend of regional small-city travel.
The route has seen strong demand, with a cumulative 40,000 passengers over nine months.
Matsuyama, known for its historic Dogo Onsen and picturesque golf courses, also gained fame as the setting for the movie Spirited Away.
